Rules & Regulations of Racing
| 1. | All official competitors must wear race numbers which are to be worn on the left rear hip. |
| 2. | All competitors are to line up 2 abreast whilst awaiting starter’s orders. They must not impede riders already racing and must warm up off the circuit where possible. |
| 3 | In the event of any withdrawals, before or during a race, by a competitor he or she must notify the judges immediately. |
| 4 | When a corner steward waves a red flag, competitors must slow down, maintain their current position, be prepared to stop and await the signal to proceed. When a red flag is displayed, the race becomes neutral and no attacks can be made. |
| 5 | Races are conducted on public roads. Therefore, all competitors are subject to the law of the road. Also, riders competing or warming up should not, under any circumstances, publicly insult or abuse other road users. |
| 6 | Club members must be financial seven (7) days before a Club Championship to be eligible to compete in the respective event. |
| 7 | In Graded Scratch Races drafting with a rider from another grade is not allowed. Persons violating this rule may be disqualified from the respective race and will be ineligible for any rewards in same. |
| 8 | In individual time trials, drafting with any other person is not allowed. In team time trials, drafting with any other team is not allowed. The same penalty as in Rule 7 applies. |
| 9 | Club Members not nominated who are riding without the knowledge of officials must not join in or ride on the same circuit in the same direction as competing riders. Persons violating this rule will be reported by the referee to the Club Executive Committee for disciplinary action. |
| 10 | Nominations close at 9.00pm on the Wednesday night preceding the race. Nominations for the Minlaton 2 day tour, Port Broughton weekend, Club Championship Events and Open Events close 1 week prior to the scheduled event. No late nominations will be accepted. |
| 11 | Post Nominations close thirty (30) minutes prior to the first event taking place. |
| 12 | Competitors who believe they are in the placings, must claim their position with the Claims Officer. Competitors who do not claim, risk not being rewarded. |
| 13 | Competitors may not nominate for two events on the same day unless it is possible to compete in both events. Infringements will be dealt with by the SAVCA Executive. |

All Criterium graded events held at either Victoria Park, Adelaide or Birralee Road, Regency Park will be allowed two (2) laps to join their original group if a puncture or fall occurs. In any case the referee should be fully informed of any mishaps and involved in the re-entry of the race. No outside assistance permitted, such as changing bikes or wheels from another competing rider. |
| 15 | Any competitor missing their start time in a Time Trial event will be disqualified and unable to compete in the event |

Any competitor being disqualified from an event, will lose start, finish and placing points, as appropriate. (Note: Where the matter is taken to appeal, and is upheld, start, finish and placing points, as appropriate, will be reinstated). |
| Appeals Process (currently under Review by VLCC Constitution Committee) | |
| 1 | Any member wishing to lodge an Appeal must: |
| - do so within 30 minutes of the race finishing; and |
|
| - lodge their appeal in writing, together with the $50 Appeal Fee (Note: Provided the appeal fee is made within the 30 minute time ruling, you have another 24 hours in which to submit your letter of appeal to the Secretary or President for consideration by the Appeals Board. |

| 2 | The Appeals Board shall comprise five (5) members of the Executive Committee. A quorum shall be three (3) members. Chairman to be appointed from members comprising the quorum |
| 3 | Rider’s representative to the Appeals Board shall be appointed at the Annual General Meeting |
| 4 | The powers of the Appeals Board shall be to deal with any appeal lodged with the Secretary in writing. All reports of appeals shall be read to a General Meeting |
| 5 | The Board shall investigate and question any member or person and may demand (if required) a Statutory Declaration from any person who has given evidence or a statement. |
| 6 | The Board shall have the power to quash, set aside, alter, amend, add to or reduce any fine, suspension or disqualification, confirm or dismiss any direction of the Referee or Stewards. |
| 7 | The Board shall take evidence in any way it may think fit. |
| 8 | The decision of the Board shall be final and binding on all concerned, without recourse to law, or any other tribunal unless set aside by the South Australian Veteran Cycling Association (SAVCA). |
| Note: Where the appeal process has commenced, appeal fees are not refundable in the event of an appeal being "withdrawn". |
